The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has felicitated Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, urging sustained prayers, unity, and support for the poor and vulnerable in society.
In a Sallah message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Malam Ismail Mudashir, Barau called on Muslims and all Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and the continued progress of the country.
The Deputy Senate President, who is also the First Deputy Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, congratulated Nigerian pilgrims currently performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia. He urged them to remember Nigeria and its leaders in their prayers at the holy sites.
Barau said the prayers of pilgrims during the sacred period are invaluable to national development, and called on them to seek enduring peace, stability, and prosperity for the country.
He also urged Nigerians to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the President remains committed to addressing the nation’s challenges and improving the well-being of citizens.
“I wish Muslims, and indeed all Nigerians, a peaceful and memorable Eid-el-Kabir. This season reminds us of total submission to the will of Allah, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim,” Barau said.
He stressed that true believers must uphold the values of sacrifice, obedience, tolerance, justice, and charity, and encouraged Nigerians to extend support to the poor and needy around them.
“With sustained efforts and the support of all Nigerians, we are confident that the nation will achieve greater stability and prosperity. Eid Mubarak!” he added.
