Abuja

The Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has extended warm Sallah felicitations to the Muslim Ummah and all residents of the council as they mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

In his message, Maikalangu urged residents to embrace the core virtues of the season — love, selflessness, sacrifice, and obedience — and to carry forward the lessons of piety and discipline beyond the festivities.

He stressed that the sustainable development and peace of the Federal Capital Territory, and AMAC in particular, depend on the collective spiritual and physical support of citizens regardless of religious or ethnic backgrounds. According to him, the council’s strength lies in its diversity and peaceful coexistence.

“Sallah is a period of deep reflection and gratitude,” Maikalangu said. “As we gather with family and friends to celebrate, let us remember the less privileged among us, extend a hand of fellowship, and pray fervently for the peace, unity, and economic prosperity of our beloved council and Nigeria as a whole.”

The chairman also expressed gratitude to the Minister of the FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for his support, visionary leadership, and mentorship, which he said have been instrumental in driving infrastructural development across the capital city.

Reassuring residents of his administration’s commitment, Maikalangu said AMAC remains focused on delivering the dividends of democracy. He noted that priority areas include security, rural electrification, potable water distribution, and the rehabilitation of primary health centers and rural roads across the council’s 12 wards.

He wished everyone a joyful, peaceful, and crime-free Sallah celebration and urged residents to remain security-conscious and report any suspicious activities to relevant agencies.

Also felicitating with Muslim faithful was Hon. Samuel Nggada, Special Adviser on Political Affairs to the Executive Chairman. He described Eid-el-Kabir as a reminder of faith, sacrifice, obedience, compassion, and devotion to Almighty Allah.

Nggada called on residents to promote harmonious coexistence and support the developmental efforts of the council under Maikalangu’s leadership for the progress and prosperity of communities across AMAC.

“May Allah accept our prayers, sacrifices, and acts of worship, and bless our families, AMAC, the FCT, and Nigeria with peace, good health, and abundant blessings,” Nggada said in his message dated 27th May 2026.

The messages were signed by Hon. Kinsley Madaki, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Public Affairs to the Executive Chairman, and Hon. Samuel Nggada respectively.
