The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Nyanya/Karu Branch in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alex Ebi Edim Esq, has congratulated Mrs. Oyinkasola Badejo-Okusanya SAN on her emergence as the second female President of the NBA in the association’s history.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the entire members of the Nyanya/Karu Branch, Mr. Edim described the election as a landmark moment for the legal profession and a testament to the growing role of women in leadership within the NBA.
He noted that Mrs. Badejo-Okusanya’s victory reflects the confidence and trust reposed in her by lawyers across the country, and that her track record of service, integrity and commitment to the rule of law made her a worthy choice.
According to the Chairman, “This historic emergence comes at a time when the Bar needs steady, inclusive and visionary leadership. We are confident that under your presidency, the NBA will continue to wax stronger as the conscience of the nation.”
Mr. Edim further stated that the Nyanya/Karu Branch, being one of the vibrant branches in the FCT, is proud to associate with this milestone and looks forward to working with the new national leadership to advance the welfare of members and the promotion of access to justice.
He also commended all members of the NBA who participated in the electoral process, describing the peaceful conduct of the elections as a demonstration of the Bar’s maturity and commitment to democratic ideals.
The Chairman assured the new President of the full support and cooperation of the Nyanya/Karu Branch in driving the policies, programmes and reforms of her administration for the benefit of lawyers and the Nigerian people.
He prayed for God’s wisdom, strength and guidance upon Mrs. Badejo-Okusanya as she pilots the affairs of the NBA, and expressed optimism that her tenure will leave a lasting legacy for the legal profession in Nigeria.
