Ekuson Nw’Ogbunka in Abuja

The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) has reiterated its firm commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to ensure the safety and security of all residents across the council.

This was contained in a press release signed by Kingsley Madaki, Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman AMAC, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu on Wednesday.

Speaking at the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) meeting held in Kurudu, the Vice Chairman of AMAC, Hon. Mohammed Yusuf Nadabo, who is currently serving as Acting Chairman, issued a stern warning to criminal elements operating within the municipality.

Hon. Maikalangu is on an official working visit to the United States.

Hon. Nadabo emphasized that under the leadership of Hon. Maikalangu, AMAC has zero tolerance for crime and that perpetrators will find no safe haven anywhere within the area council.

“Let it be known that criminals have nowhere to hide in AMAC,” he declared.

“We are fully committed to protecting our citizens, and the Area Council will continue to provide the necessary support and resources to the Police and sister agencies to track down, arrest, and prosecute anyone threatening the peace of our communities,” Hon. Nadabo stated.

He commended the officers and members of the Police Community Relations Committee for their proactive efforts in fostering synergy between local communities and law enforcement officials.

According to him, effective community policing remains crucial to eradicating crime and building trust between residents and security agencies.

Hon. Nadabo assured the gathering that the Area Council will remain steadfast in partnering with the police to enhance intelligence sharing, strengthen community safety networks, and maintain law and order across all wards.
