Two officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service have written Nigeria’s name in gold with remarkable performances in athletics and beach volleyball.
ASI 1 Azeez Moridiyyah Motunrayo clinched gold and the world title in the W50 Masters Javelin category at the World Masters Athletics Competition currently holding in South Korea.
Her victory adds to Nigeria’s growing profile in masters athletics and showcases the talent within the ranks of the Immigration Service.
Meanwhile, ASI Kayode Ajilore captained Nigeria to a groundbreaking achievement at the African Beach Volleyball Continental Championship.
The team’s win earned Nigeria its first continental title in beach volleyball and, more significantly, the nation’s first-ever qualification for the Olympics in the sport ahead of LA 2028.
The Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap, pcc, fsmn, described the double feat as a testament to the discipline, resilience and excellence of NIS personnel.
She said the Service is proud of both officers for projecting the positive image of the NIS and Nigeria on international platforms.
“On behalf of the officers and men, we celebrate these remarkable achievements and we will continue to encourage staff to excel both in service and in representing Nigeria globally,”_ Nandap added.
