The Member representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, has assured supporters that the recent Supreme Court judgment does not affect his candidacy on the platform of the Accord Party for the 2027 general election.
Obika, through a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Amb. Emenike Egbusunwa, said he remains the recognised Accord Party candidate for the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency seat.
The statement was issued against what the lawmaker’s office described as “insinuations or misinformation” circulating in some quarters regarding the impact of the Supreme Court judgment on his political status.
According to the statement, “the recent Supreme Court judgment has no bearing on the candidacy of Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika,” stressing that he remains in the race and prepared to continue his representation of the constituency.

“Every necessary arrangement is firmly in place, and our collective mandate remains intact,” the statement said.
The lawmaker also reaffirmed his commitment to what his office described as quality representation and the delivery of democratic dividends to the people of AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency.
As the 2027 general election approaches, the statement urged party members, supporters and well-wishers to maintain unity and dedication.
“In the FCT, we are ACCORDingly verified, and we will OBIdiently apply it on Election Day,” the statement added.
