The Accord Party in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has unveiled what it describes as a winning ticket for the 2027 general elections under the banner of “FCT in One Accord.”
The political understanding was explained by Cornel Max-Nduaguibe, the South-East Zone Provost of the party in the FCT and AMAC Executive Member.
According to him, FCT politics cannot be won by one bloc alone, and the party’s ticket represents Indigenous and non-Indigenous, Christian and Muslim, youth and elders, and South-East and other zones.
He identified Gwarinpa Ward as the base of the movement, describing it as one of the most densely populated wards in AMAC and home to a large South-East population whose unity could be decisive in elections.
For the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, the party is presenting Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika for the House of Representatives, citing his sponsorship of the FCT Scholarship Board Bill, medical outreaches and inclusive leadership.
Despite what he described as Supreme Court noise, he said Accord has declared Obika as accordingly verified and his performance backs his re-election bid for 2027.
For the FCT Senate seat, the party is presenting Dr. Ezekiel Dalhatu Musa, popularly known as MC Gida Gida, a former Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission representing FCT.
He said MC Gida Gida has endorsed Obika, stating that “his actions speak louder than criticism,” and is contesting with a 12-point legislative agenda including institutional reform of the FCT Act, greater autonomy for Area Councils, and transparent budgeting.
