The Ministry of Interior within the week hosted a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Sensitization Workshop aimed at deepening strategic collaboration with the private sector, improving efficiency, and attracting sustainable investment into its operations.
The workshop gathered directors, technical officers, and key stakeholders to build capacity on PPP frameworks and identify opportunities for collaboration in line with national development priorities. It is part of the Ministry’s ongoing reform initiatives to enhance service delivery and bridge infrastructure gaps.
In her welcome address, Deputy Director, Special Duties, Mrs. Adogeri Beloved,* said the programme was a deliberate effort to expose staff to modern financing and operational models. She noted that adopting PPP strategies would help the Ministry leverage private sector expertise, drive efficiency, and ensure sustainable development across its mandates.
Speaking on behalf of Permanent Secretary Dr. Magdalene Ajani,* Director of Human Resources Management Mrs. Catherine Zozi reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to institutional strengthening and reform. She described PPPs as a critical tool for delivering value for money, enhancing transparency, and fostering innovation in public service delivery.
Ajani stressed that building officers’ capacity to design, manage, and monitor PPP projects* is essential for long-term impact and aligning with global best practices. The Permanent Secretary said the Ministry is repositioning for innovation and growth through such reforms.
In a goodwill message, Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission Director-General Dr. Johnson Ewalefoh commended the Ministry’s proactive approach to embracing PPP frameworks. He said strong collaboration between government and the private sector is key to unlocking economic potential and addressing infrastructure deficits.
Dr. Ewalefoh assured the Ministry of ICRC’s continued support* in regulatory guidance, technical expertise, and oversight to ensure all PPP initiatives deliver maximum public value while maintaining accountability and transparency. The workshop featured technical sessions and expert presentations on PPP implementation, project structuring, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Participants were encouraged to apply the insights to identify viable, bankable projects that align with the Ministry’s strategic objectives. In a statement signed by Mrs. Mary Ali, Head of Press and Public Relations, the Ministry reiterated its commitment to reforms that strengthen institutional capacity, foster strategic partnerships, and deliver efficient, transparent, and citizen-focused services through innovative approaches like PPPs.
