The Reality Organisation has warned that the Abia State chapter of the APC risks deepening its internal crisis if it proceeds with plans to sanction Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

The group, in a statement on Tuesday by Dimgba Okereke, rejected the anti-party allegations levelled against Kalu by the Abia APC SWC, describing them as an attempt to muzzle dissenting voices ahead of 2027.

The APC leadership had on Monday condemned remarks attributed to Kalu and Hon. Chris Nkwonta, calling for public apologies and possible disciplinary action.

But Reality Organisation said the Senator’s comments were political assessments, not endorsements. It noted that Kalu affirmed Tinubu’s 2027 chances and predicted Otti’s re-election when asked during a TV interview.

“When asked whether the APC had an alliance with Governor Otti, Senator Kalu’s response was an unequivocal no,” the group clarified.

The organisation argued that instead of threats, the APC should use Kalu’s prediction as a wake-up call. “If the leadership were genuinely serious about winning 2027, his answers should have provided an opportunity for sober self-reflection,” it said.

It accused the Chijioke Chukwu-led executives of applying double standards, alleging that past predictions against Kalu were ignored while his own assessment was being criminalized.

“No individual owns the APC in Abia. Benjamin Kalu does not own it. Chijioke Chukwu does not own it. Neither does any collection of political cronies have the authority to convert a national party into a private estate,” the group declared.

Reality Organisation warned that continued impunity and segregation could force patriotic members to form a parallel SWC to provide inclusive leadership for Abia APC members.

It challenged the party to organize, reconcile aggrieved members and present a credible candidate for 2027. “Threats and political grandstanding will not win an election. The ballot box is the ultimate test,” it said.
