Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has called on the people of Kano North Senatorial District to remain united and rally behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, and all APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Barau made the appeal on Wednesday in Abuja while receiving two delegations from Dambatta Local Government Area. The first delegation was led by Hon. Hafiz Sani Maidaji, a former three-term Kano Assembly member who contested the APC primary for Dambatta/Makoda Federal Constituency.
Commending Maidaji for withdrawing his court case challenging the primary outcome, Barau described the decision as a sign of political maturity. “His choice strengthens our collective efforts in Dambatta/Makoda and reaffirms our shared commitment to progress,” he said.
The second delegation, led by his Senior Legislative Aide in Dambatta, Alhaji Abdullahi Dan Bayero, came to appreciate Barau for ongoing empowerment and development projects across Kano North. Barau listed monthly N100,000 startup capital for 1,300 beneficiaries, and distribution of fertilisers, water pumps, motorcycles, and other items.
He assured constituents of continued support in education, agriculture and infrastructure, urging them to prioritize unity over political differences. “With unity, loyalty, and collective commitment, we can achieve a more prosperous Kano North and a stronger Nigeria,” he stated.
