Hon. Chinedu Obika, member representing the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, has felicitated Muslims in his constituency on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, Obika who is currently aspiring for continuation under the platform of Nigeria Democratic Congress extended his goodwill message to the Muslim community, describing the festival as a time for reflection, sacrifice, and unity.
The lawmaker prayed for a peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration across the constituency. He said the period should reinforce bonds of brotherhood among residents regardless of religious affiliation.
Obika urged other religious bodies in AMAC/Bwari to join their Muslim neighbours in the celebration, noting that such gestures strengthen communal harmony.
He emphasized the need for religious tolerance, saying it remains vital for peaceful coexistence in the Federal Capital Territory and the country at large.
According to the lawmaker, mutual respect among faith communities is essential for sustaining peace and development in the constituency.
Obika reaffirmed his commitment to representing all constituents equally, regardless of religion or ethnicity, and pledged continued efforts to promote unity through his legislative duties.
He concluded by wishing Muslims in AMAC/Bwari a joyous and peaceful Eid-el-Kabir, and called on residents to use the occasion to pray for national peace and progress.
