The Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) ALGON Chairman Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, was present at the official commissioning of the Kuje–Gwagwalada Dual Carriageway Phase I on Wednesday, and lauded the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his remarkable leadership vision and relentless drive in delivering critical infrastructure. The event marked another milestone in the FCT Administration’s (FCTA’s) push for critical infrastructure development.
According to a press release signed by Kingsley Madaki, Chief Press Secretary to the AMAC Executive Chairman, the newly completed seven-kilometre road is expected to significantly enhance connectivity within the Federal Capital Territory. The project links key satellite towns and is projected to cut travel time for commuters and traders moving between Kuje and Gwagwalada.
Maikalangu described the road as a direct impact of the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda. “This project serves as a visible demonstration of the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, underscoring its determination to infrastructure development and improving the daily lives of Nigerians,” the AMAC Boss said during the commissioning.
He noted that improved road networks in satellite towns will stimulate economic growth, boost commerce, and ease the burden on residents who previously spent hours in traffic. The dual carriageway is also expected to reduce accidents and improve access to markets, schools, and health facilities along the corridor.
The AMAC Chairman highly lauded the Honourable Minister of the FCT, Barrister Nyesom Wike, for his remarkable leadership, vision, and relentless drive in delivering high-impact infrastructure across the territory. He said the commissioning reflected the Minister’s commitment to ensuring that development in the FCT extends beyond the city centre to the area councils.
