Abuja

Mr. Amaechi Ezeokoye, former Chairman of Ekwulobia indigenes in Abuja, and a communication consultant has called on stakeholders, party members and constituents of Aguata Federal Constituency to back Dr. Okwudili Ezeike’s bid for the Federal House of Representatives in the 2027 elections.

Ezeokoye made the call at the weekend while addressing journalists in his office in Abuja. He said Ezeike’s background in law, health, and public service positions him as a credible candidate to represent Aguata at the National Assembly.

Dr. Okwudili Ezeike, a US-based attorney and health expert, has declared his intention to contest for the Aguata Federal Constituency seat, under the platform of Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC). He said his decision was driven by a desire to bring his experience and networks to bear on the development challenges facing the constituency.

According to Ezeokoye, Ezeike has held several positions successfully both in Nigeria and abroad, and has consistently supported community and philanthropic initiatives. He urged constituents not to overlook such contributions when choosing their next representative.

“Aguata needs a voice that understands both local realities and global best practices,” Ezeokoye said, adding: “Dr. Ezeike has the capacity, exposure, and commitment to deliver on that mandate.”

The former Ekwulobia indigenes chairman noted that effective representation requires someone with a track record of service, policy understanding, and the ability to attract partnerships for development projects. He argued that Ezeike fits that profile.

Ezeokoye also appealed to political leaders, traditional institutions, party members and youth groups in Aguata to consider merit and competence above sentiment in the upcoming selection process. He said the constituency’s progress depended on electing representatives with verifiable capacity.

Constituents are expected to begin consultations and engagements across Aguata’s wards in the coming months as aspirants formalize their campaigns ahead of party primaries. Ezeike’s team says it will roll out its policy agenda and community outreach plan shortly.
