The Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’Adua, has commended security agencies for the safe rescue of victims abducted in Woro Community, Kwara State.
In a press statement issued on Thursday on behalf of Senators from the 19 Northern States and the FCT, Yar’Adua congratulated the government and good people of Kwara State over the successful outcome.
He praised the coordinated efforts of the Nigeria Police Force, DSS, NSCDC, Nigerian Army and local vigilantes, saying their professionalism led to the victims’ release unharmed. The Forum noted that the operation was a clear example of what can be achieved when security agencies work together and receive timely intelligence from the community.
Acknowledging the role of President Tinubu, hailing his leadership and provision of resources gave security forces the backing needed to confront criminality, Yar’adua had this to say: “The swift intervention at the federal level was critical to securing the release of the abducted persons,” the statement read.
The Northern Senators, however, mourned those who lost their lives during the incident and extended sympathies to their families. The Forum prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and called on both the Federal and Kwara State Governments to support the bereaved families adequately.
Senator Yar’Adua urged Nigerians to continue providing credible information to security agencies, noting that community cooperation is vital to ending insecurity. He said the rescue of the Woro victims should encourage more collaboration between citizens and security forces across the region. The Forum congratulated the people of Kwara State and the Woro Community for the safe return of their loved ones.
“May Woro and indeed all communities in the North know peace,” Yar’Adua concluded.
