The South-East Elders and Youths Alliance for Tinubu/Shettima 2027 (SEEYAT ’27) has appointed former Inspector-General of Police, Sir Mike Mbama Okiro, as Patron of the organisation ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The appointment was conveyed in a formal letter dated October 13, 2026, and presented to Okiro at his residence in Abuja.
The letter was signed by the National Coordinator of SEEYAT ’27, Hon. Humphrey Nsofor; National Secretary, Prof. Chuka Ezema; and National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Basildon Ejidike. Among others, the presentation was witnessed by Dr. Pat Anyanwu and Duke Omeye.
The appointment forms part of the alliance’s efforts to strengthen its leadership structure and engage experienced Nigerians in its campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in 2027.
Okiro, a former Inspector-General of Police with extensive public service experience, is expected to provide guidance and support to the organisation as it pursues its political objectives.
SEEYAT ’27 is committed to mobilising elders, youths and other stakeholders, particularly across the South-East, in support of the Tinubu/Shettima ticket.
The alliance believes that engaging experienced public figures will strengthen its organisational capacity and help advance its political sensitisation and mobilisation activities.
The appointment also comes as political organisations begin preparations for the 2027 general election, with different groups seeking to expand their networks and consolidate support for their preferred candidates.
