Abuja

The Abala Ugada community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has hailed Senator Ned Nwoko of Delta North for moving a motion for the creation of Anioma State in the Senate. The President General (PG) of Abala Ugada community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Chief Uche Okei, expressed the community’s support for the senator’s efforts, saying they stand with him in his quest for the creation of the state.

Chief Okei, who is also the Vice President of Izuanioma Town’s Union in Abuja and the Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo in the 19 Norther States and FCT, made the statement while addressing journalists in his office in Abuja. He said the creation of Anioma State would bring about development to the region, citing the lack of infrastructure, including road networks, in the area.

The community leader emphasized that the people of Abala Ugada are Igbo and have been marginalized, saying the creation of Anioma State would give them a sense of belonging. He noted that the community has been neglected, and the creation of the state would bring development and improve their standard of living.

Chief Okei also dismissed claims that some people are opposing the creation of Anioma State, saying they are a minority and do not represent the views of the majority. He urged those opposing the state to come to the negotiating table and discuss their concerns.

The PG of Abala Ugada community also expressed concern about the lack of development in the area, saying the creation of Anioma State would attract investors and create jobs. He cited the example of Igbanke, a community in Edo State, saying it is an Igbo-speaking community that has been neglected, and the creation of Anioma State would benefit them.

Chief Okei warned against attempts to include Onitsha and other areas in the proposed Anioma State, saying the people of Abala Ugada are committed to the creation of the state with the existing boundaries. He emphasized that the natural boundary between Delta and Anambra States should be respected.

The community leader also praised Senator Nwoko for his efforts in pushing for the creation of Anioma State, saying he has done a lot for the people of Delta North. He urged the senator to continue his efforts and assured him of the community’s support.

Chief Okei also called on the federal government to support the creation of Anioma State, saying it would bring peace and development to the region. He emphasized that the people of Abala Ugada are not asking for anything extraordinary, but just a state of their own.

The PG of Abala Ugada community also expressed gratitude to Senator Nwoko for his dedication to the cause, saying the people of Delta North appreciate his efforts. He urged all stakeholders to support the creation of Anioma State, saying it is a necessary step for the development of the region.

In conclusion, Chief Okei reiterated the community’s support for the creation of Anioma State, saying it is a long-awaited development that would benefit the people of Delta North.
