The Women in Security Summit and Awards (WINSEC) 2026 has received a major boost as African Independent Television (AIT) committed to provide extensive media coverage, strategic publicity, and live broadcast support for the event.
The assurance was given by Daar Communications Plc, owners of AIT, during a courtesy visit by the National Chairperson of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim. Ibrahim also chairs the WINSEC Committee and led members of the WINSEC Secretariat to the Abuja media house.
Chief Executive Officer of Daar Communications Plc, Chief Marcel Anyanyechi, praised NAWOJ for creating a platform to celebrate the resilience, dedication, sacrifice, and achievements of women in Nigeria’s security architecture.
He described WINSEC as a timely intervention that recognizes excellence and inspires greater patriotism, professionalism, and commitment among security personnel and stakeholders working for a safer Nigeria.
Chief Anyanyechi said tackling security challenges requires collective action and stronger collaboration among the media, security agencies, government institutions, and citizens.
He reiterated AIT’s readiness to partner with organizers to ensure the success of the summit and awards ceremony, stressing the media’s role in national development.
“As a media organization committed to national development, we recognize the importance of honouring those who make daily sacrifices for the peace, stability and security of our nation. We will work with you, partner with you and collaborate with you to ensure that the event is successful,” he stated.
As part of its support, AIT pledged live coverage of the awards ceremony, comprehensive news reporting of the summit, promotional broadcasts, scroll announcements, and technical support to enhance publicity materials.
The media organization also reaffirmed its commitment to promoting national security awareness, public enlightenment, and responsible journalism through partnerships that contribute to nation-building.
Earlier, Hajiya Aisha Ibrahim thanked Daar Communications for its support. She said WINSEC 2026, themed “Celebrating Courage, Passion, Loyalty, Commitment and Sacrifice of Service in Securing the Nation,” will hold on June 30, 2026, at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. The event is expected to attract security chiefs, policymakers, media executives, and other stakeholders to deliberate on national security and honour outstanding women in the sector.
