The Anambra State Police Command has debriefed the owner of a recovered white Toyota Sienna to strengthen security operations in Orumba South, following a joint patrol that neutralised four suspected armed secessionist gang members.
According to a press release from SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, the operation was coordinated by the Commander, Forward Operating Base (FOB), Aguata, CSP Austin Elaigwu. It resulted in the killing of four suspects and the recovery of a cache of weapons and ammunition along the Ogboji–Ajalli Road, Orumba South Local Government Area.
The Command said the recovered Sienna had earlier been reported stolen by the gang. Police traced and contacted the owner, who was debriefed on the circumstances of the theft and the modus operandi of the criminal elements.
Ikenga noted that the information obtained is already assisting the Command to review its operational strategies, redeploy personnel, and reposition security assets within Orumba South and adjoining communities. The goal, he said, is to proactively disrupt further criminal plans and improve public safety.
Commending the Joint Security Team for courage and professionalism, the Command stressed that no single agency can claim sole credit for the relative peace in the state. It attributed the gains to inter-agency collaboration, intelligence sharing, and the support of Ndi Anambra.
The Command added that intelligence-led operations are ongoing to track and arrest other fleeing gang members and their collaborators. Residents were urged to remain vigilant and provide credible, timely information to security agencies to sustain efforts at keeping Anambra safe.
