The Mayor of Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon. Shedrack N. Azubuike, has reappointed Rev. Chinedu Maxwell Onyeachor as Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) and Hon. Nlelanya Onyebuchi as his Chief of Staff.
The reappointments form part of the Mayor’s efforts to ensure continuity, stability and effective coordination of the administration as he begins his second term in office.
Rev. Onyeachor, who returns as Secretary to the Local Government, is expected to play a key role in the coordination of the council’s administrative machinery and in supporting the implementation of the administration’s grassroots development agenda.
His responsibilities will include strengthening coordination between the council administration and communities across Orumba South, with a focus on promoting responsive governance and ensuring that the programmes and policies of the administration reach residents at the grassroots.
Similarly, Hon. Nlelanya Onyebuchi has been retained as Chief of Staff to the Mayor.
As Chief of Staff, Onyebuchi is expected to continue assisting the Mayor in coordinating the activities of the administration, while facilitating effective engagement between the council leadership, stakeholders, community leaders and residents across the Local Government Area.
The retention of both officials, according to the administration’s direction, is expected to provide institutional stability and administrative continuity as the council embarks on its second term.
The appointments also reflect the administration’s resolve to build a coordinated leadership structure capable of effectively implementing its development programmes and responding to the needs of the people.
The Mayor’s administration has reiterated its commitment to bringing governance closer to the people through responsive leadership, improved basic services, community-focused initiatives and sustainable development projects.
With the reappointment of Onyeachor and Onyebuchi, the council is expected to strengthen its administrative and political coordination while pursuing inclusive development and improved service delivery across Orumba South.
The two officials are therefore expected to work closely with the Mayor, councillors, traditional institutions, community stakeholders and other relevant partners in advancing the administration’s grassroots development agenda and ensuring that the benefits of local government are felt across the various communities in Orumba South.
