It was an evening of celebration, gratitude, and high praise as the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), hosted a Special Thank-You Dinner to mark the successful completion, commissioning, and flag-off of 31 milestone infrastructure projects across Abuja.
The dinner, held recently at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, coincided with the FCT’s 50th anniversary. It served as both a retrospective and a showcase of the unprecedented transformation of the nation’s capital under the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration.
Central to the progress, officials said, is the dynamic partnership between FCT Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike, and Minister of State, Dr. Mariya Mahmoud. Their joint leadership was credited with accelerating project delivery, cutting bureaucratic delays, and restoring public confidence in the FCT’s development agenda.
The event drew strong endorsements from the top echelon of government. President Tinubu commended the FCTA for the visible impact of the projects. Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, were also in attendance and lauded the administration for repositioning Abuja as a model capital city.
Other stakeholders, including foreign diplomats, traditional rulers, captains of industry, and community leaders, joined in celebrating what was described as a new era of infrastructure renewal in the FCT.
Speakers at the dinner noted that the 31 projects span roads, health facilities, schools, water, and public buildings — all delivered within the Renewed Hope Agenda framework.
Minister Wike, in his remarks, dedicated the achievements to the residents of Abuja and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to timely delivery and maintenance of public infrastructure.
Dr. Mahmoud emphasized the role of inclusive planning, noting that several of the projects prioritized women, youth, and underserved communities.
The atmosphere was festive, with cultural performances, tributes to workers, and a photo exhibition tracing Abuja’s growth over five decades.
The highlight of the night was the unveiling of a commemorative plaque to mark the FCT@50 and the infrastructure milestones.
In closing, government officials described the dinner not just as a thank-you, but as a call to sustain the momentum of development across the territory.
