The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 3rd, and Monday, April 6th, 2026, as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration. The announcement was made by the Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government.
Message of Peace and Unity
In a statement, Dr. Tunji-Ojo congratulated all Christians in Nigeria and in the diaspora on the joyous occasion of Easter. He urged Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance, and love as exemplified by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. The Minister emphasized the importance of tolerance and community, values that are essential to Nigeria’s unity and progress.
