Let’s Go Nigeria app aims to boost tourism

Chief Odinaka Anumba, Director of Lets Go Nigeria, a tourism outfit, has revealed that the company’s app is a one-stop-shop for foreigners and locals to explore Nigeria’s tourism potential.

Addressing journalists at the 2026 National Hospitality and Tourism Stakeholders Forum, with the theme: Shaping the Future of Nigeria Tourism Together, organized by the NTDA in Abuja on Monday and Wednesday, he said that the app, Lets Go Nigeria, provides information on attractions, accommodation, restaurants, shopping, entertainment, and nightlife. It is free to use, with establishments such as restaurants and hotels paying for promotion.

Chief Anumba stated that the app has created employment opportunities for young Nigerians, particularly Gen Z’s. He emphasized that tourism is a lucrative industry that can boost Nigeria’s economy.

Despite the app’s potential, Chief Anumba noted that security concerns and taxes are challenges facing the industry, just as he urged stakeholders to focus on improving the sector rather than highlighting negatives.

Chief Anumba called on the NTDA to improve its support for tourism initiatives, citing the need for alternative energy sources and artificial intelligence to drive growth.

Commending Abia State Government for its efforts in developing tourism sites, he urged the government to do motor, especially in the development the source of the Imo River, in Umuaku, Isuochi, Umunneochi local government area of the stste.

Chief Anumba emphasized the importance of digitalization in tourism, stating that establishments must adapt to remain competitive, just as he informed that the Lets Go Nigeria app has captured all states in Nigeria, showcasing the country’s tourism potential. Chief Anumba believes that with government support and stakeholder collaboration, the sector can drive economic growth and create jobs.

While acknowledging security concerns and urging stakeholders to focus on improving the sector rather than highlighting negatives, he called on NTDA to support initiatives that promote tourism, such as the Lets Go Nigeria app, to boost Nigeria’s economy.

The Lets Go Nigeria app is a step towards unlocking Nigeria’s tourism potential, and with government support and stakeholder collaboration, the sector can drive economic growth and create jobs.
