The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Nyanya Karu Branch is set to honour the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, with an award for his outstanding performance in transforming the FCT.
The branch chairman, Barrister Alexander Ebi Edim, praised Minister Wike for opening up road networks in Karu and driving massive infrastructural development in the zone, including a water project in Jikwoyi and renovation of courts.
In a press release, Edim stated that Minister Wike is the first serving minister to transform the FCT within two and a half years, citing developments like road rehabilitation and infrastructure upgrades across the territory.
The NBA Nyanya Karu Branch has recommended Minister Wike for the award of Best Performing Minister, ahead of their Law Week and award night on April 25, 2026.
The Law Week, scheduled for April 17-20, 2026, will feature prominent lawyers, including former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Honourable Justice Walter Onnoghen (rtd).
Edim expressed satisfaction with Minister Wike’s efforts, stating the branch is pleased with his passion and hard work to transform the FCT, and looks forward to his continued impact.
