Nigerian graduates seeking to register for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have expressed frustration and disappointment over their inability to access the registration portal, following persistent network challenges, particularly in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The affected graduates, who spoke with our reporter, said the development had left many of them stranded, as attempts to open and navigate the NYSC registration portal repeatedly failed due to poor or unavailable network connectivity.
According to the graduates, the situation is particularly worrisome because the registration exercise is scheduled to end on September 13, 2026, leaving them with little time to complete the process.
Some of the affected graduates said they had made several attempts to access the portal at different times and locations but were unable to proceed with their registration because of the network problem.
They appealed to the NYSC management and other relevant authorities to urgently address the situation and ensure that graduates who genuinely want to register are not prevented from doing so by circumstances beyond their control.
The graduates also called for an extension of the registration deadline, arguing that the network challenges had substantially reduced the time available to many prospective corps members to complete the exercise.
They said such an extension would provide an opportunity for affected graduates to complete their registration without unnecessary anxiety, while also preventing the network disruption from unfairly denying them participation in the service year.
All efforts by our reporter to reach the NYSC authorities for their reaction to the complaints proved abortive at press time.
