Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, the Member representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the Federal Capital Territory, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
The announcement was contained in a press statement released on Wednesday by Amb. Emenike Egbusunwa, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Hon. Obika.
Confirming the move, Hon. Johnson Olatunde Ayo said he and his entire political structure would follow Obika to the NDC, declaring “NDC, here we come. APC, goodbye to you.”
Chief Uche Okei, the Vice President of Ohaneze Ndigbo in the 19 Northern States and the FCT welcomed the development, stating that “the real game has started” and urging constituents to rally behind Obika in his new party.
Similarly, Iyom Okwesilieze, the Ohaneze Ndigbo woman leader, called on all stakeholders to support the lawmaker, noting that such backing would enable him to deliver more quality legislation for the nation’s capital.
Stakeholders expressed confidence that Obika’s switch would strengthen representation for AMAC/Bwari constituents and open new avenues for legislative impact within the FCT.
