The Member representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency of Abuja the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the House of Representatives, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, was received with massive support during a visit to the Karshi community on Saturday.
Members of the Karshi Student Union, (KASU), turned out in large numbers to welcome the lawmaker, hailing his developmental strides and dedication to the constituency.
This was contained in a press release signed and made available to the public over the weekend by Amb. Emenike Egbusunwa, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika.
During the engagement, Hon. Obika reiterated his unwavering commitment to advancing the educational sector, which he described as a top priority on his legislative agenda.
He provided an update on his landmark legislative initiative — the bill for the establishment of the FCT Scholarship Board. The lawmaker disclosed that the bill has successfully passed its Second Reading on the floor of the House.
Hon. Obika assured the students that he is vigorously pushing for the bill to proceed to the public hearing stage, scale through the Third Reading, and ultimately secure Presidential approval.
Addressing the students directly, the lawmaker charged them to prioritize their studies and remain law-abiding citizens. He emphasized that education is the cornerstone of a prosperous society and a viable path to national development.
