Abuja

Light and hope have finally returned to the Dnako Tuko community in the Sabon Gari district of Bwari, as a long-awaited 500 KVA, 33KV transformer donated by Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika was officially commissioned, ending four years of darkness and irregular power supply, according to a press statement Signed, by Hon. Cornel Max-Nduaguibe
Convener, Capacity Builders for Good Governance over the weekend.

The community chief, while expressing profound gratitude, said the lawmaker had lived up to his title “Haske Bwari” — The Light of Bwari. “Honorable, those who gave you the title did not make a mistake. Today you have truly lived up to it. For four years, our people lived in darkness, but today, you have restored full light. This is a true reflection of your character and commitment,” he said.

Beyond infrastructure, Hon. Obika is driving what his team calls a quiet revolution in education across the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency, moving schools from chalkboards to Smart Learning by equipping classrooms with modern ICT tools.

He has also shown commitment to cultural heritage. On March 8, 2025, Hon. Obika fulfilled his promise by commissioning and handing over a fully built and furnished palace for the Esu of Jikwoyi — a throne that had lacked a befitting palace for 29 years.

The statement by Hon. Cornel Max-Nduaguibe, Convener of Capacity Builders for Good Governance, linked the local progress to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, citing national strides in the economy, education, and infrastructure.

According to the statement, the administration has achieved non-oil revenue of over N20 trillion as of August 2025, reduced the debt service-to-revenue ratio, and stabilized the Naira through FX reforms. In education, the NELFUND Student Loan Scheme has disbursed over N184 billion, supporting 1.5 million students across 265 institutions.

On infrastructure, the statement noted that the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is progressing rapidly, while the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates project is delivering thousands of affordable housing units across the six geopolitical zones and the FCT. The Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme is also targeting economic empowerment for 10 million Nigerians.

To sustain the momentum, the statement called for “4+4” — support for a second term for both Hon. Obika and President Tinubu — to ensure the completion of Renewed Hope reforms, full digitization of the constituency’s educational system, and continued illumination and security of every ward in Bwari and AMAC.

“Leadership that prepares the next generation is leadership that deserves to continue. Obika delivers… Obika cares. Tinubu transforms… Nigeria progresses,” the statement, signed by Hon. Cornel Max-Nduaguibe, concluded.
