The Member representing Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jesse Okey-Joe Onuakalusi, has sent a message of condolence to his colleague, Hon. Arc. Muktar Mohammed, following the death of his mother, Hajiya Muktar Umma Salma.
In the condolence message, Onuakalusi described the deceased as a woman of dignity, humility, faith and quiet service. He said her life had a positive impact on both her family and the wider community in Jigawa State.
Hajiya Umma Salma was the wife of the former Chief Judge of Jigawa State, Hon. Justice Mukhtari Adamu, who served the state judiciary with distinction before his retirement.
The lawmaker noted that the deceased was not only a devoted wife and mother, but was also widely respected in Dutse and across Jigawa for her commitment to Islamic values, community service, and the welfare and education of women and young girls.
He added that during her husband’s tenure as head of the state judiciary, Hajiya Umma Salma played an important supportive role in upholding the dignity of the office. According to him, she also extended care and solidarity to members of the judiciary, their families and the larger community.
Onuakalusi further recalled her charitable and Da’awah activities, saying they reflected her deep commitment to faith and service to humanity. He stated that she left behind a legacy of compassion, family devotion and selfless service.
“On behalf of my family and the good people of Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II, I mourn with the people of Jigawa State and the entire Jigawa State Judiciary over this irreparable loss,” the lawmaker said.
Onuakalusi prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings and grant her Al-Jannatul Firdaus. He also prayed for strength for Hon. Arc. Muktar Mohammed, his family and all those she left behind to bear the loss.
