Dr. Prince Chibuike Echem, Labour Party candidate for Orumba North & South Federal Constituency, has warmly congratulated His Excellency, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, on his victory at the polls.
In a congratulatory message issued on August 16, 2026, Echem described the outcome as a powerful reminder that “power comes from God, through the power of the people.” He noted that the result demonstrates that when citizens rise to their civic responsibility, come out to vote, and protect their votes, the will of the people can prevail.
The Labour Party chieftain said the election holds a clear lesson on voter participation. “Voter apathy creates room for electoral manipulation and rigging. When good people stay away from the polls, they surrender their power,” he stated. “But when citizens come out in numbers, vote according to their conscience, and diligently follow the process from the polling units to the wards, local government collation centres and ultimately the state collation centre, the people’s mandate becomes difficult to subvert.”
According to Echem, the outcome of the election shows that power has returned to the people, and that democracy works best when citizens actively participate. He urged Nigerians to take greater ownership of the democratic process and understand that every vote matters.
