Abuja

The Senate Committee on Army has expressed its condolences to the Nigerian Army and the nation over the death of Brigadier-General Oseni Omoh Braimah and other officers and men killed in the fight against insurgency. In a press release on Friday, the Committee’s Chairman, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, acknowledged the bravery and dedication of Nigerian troops.

Sen Yar’adua assured the military of the Legislative arm’s continued support and funding to enhance the Army’s capacity to tackle security challenges. This assurance is expected to boost the morale of the troops and reassure them of the nation’s commitment to their welfare.

The statement urged the military to remain resolute and courageous, saying the nation values their efforts in combating terrorism and securing the country. The Committee’s condolences were not limited to the military alone; it also extended to the families of the fallen soldiers.

“The Nation respects and appreciates your service,” the Committee said, acknowledging the sacrifices made by the families of the fallen soldiers. This message is a testament to the nation’s gratitude for the soldiers’ ultimate sacrifice.

The Nigerian military has been engaged in a fierce battle against insurgency, and the loss of Brigadier-General Braimah and other soldiers is a significant blow to the efforts. The Senate Committee’s statement is expected to provide some comfort to the grieving families.

The Committee’s expression of condolences demonstrates the nation’s solidarity with the military and its commitment to supporting their efforts to secure the country.
