Barau to APC: Unite, mobilise and deliver Kano North in 2027

Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has sounded the battle cry for the 2027 elections in Kano North, charging APC members to bury their primary-election differences and unite for an overwhelming victory at the polls.

Barau gave the charge on Tuesday while inaugurating the Kano North Senatorial District Campaign Council, directing the council to take the APC campaign to the grassroots across the district’s 13 local government areas.

The campaign council is expected to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Barau, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and all APC candidates for the National and State Houses of Assembly.

Describing the council as an all-inclusive structure, Barau said every APC stakeholder—from the ward to the senatorial district level, had a responsibility to deliver victory for the party.

“This is an all-inclusive arrangement. Everybody is involved,” he said, stressing that the inclusive strategy had contributed to the APC’s success in Kano North.

Barau particularly appealed to members who contested the APC primaries but failed to secure tickets to remain committed to the party, while urging successful aspirants to carry their former rivals along.

According to him, the primaries are over and all members must now work together for the larger interest of the APC.

“You can see that many of those who contested the primaries but did not secure the tickets are here today,” he said, adding that the party’s victory would ultimately be their own victory.

He tasked the campaign council, chaired by Engr. Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi, with galvanising party members and supporters to deliver what he described as overwhelming victories for APC candidates.

Responding, Bichi pledged that the council would deploy its political experience and grassroots mobilisation capacity to secure the highest possible number of votes for the party in Kano North.

He described Barau as a strong and sellable candidate, citing his interventions and contributions across Kano State.

The inauguration brought together APC leaders, campaign council members and supporters from across the Kano North Senatorial District.

The message from Barau was clear: the primaries are over; the 2027 battle has begun, “APC, SAK.”
