The FCT Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Olusola Odumosu, has been conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Security and Strategic Studies.
The honour was bestowed during Nasarawa State University’s 8th Combined Convocation Ceremony, according to a press release issued on Wednesday by PR/Nkiru Njemanze.
The university said the degree was in recognition of Dr. Odumosu’s outstanding contributions to knowledge in security administration, strategic leadership, and national development.
A statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Monica Ojobi, noted that the academic feat reflects his unwavering commitment to intellectual advancement and professional excellence in security management.
It added that his research and practical engagements continue to contribute meaningfully to policy development, operational effectiveness, and the strengthening of internal security frameworks in Nigeria.
As Commandant of the FCT Command, Dr. Odumosu has demonstrated exemplary leadership by fostering synergy among security agencies, enhancing critical infrastructure protection, and advancing community-based security initiatives across the Federal Capital Territory.
The statement said his pursuit of higher academic attainment underscores the importance of continuous learning and capacity building in addressing contemporary security challenges.
The NSCDC FCT Command congratulated Dr. Odumosu on the milestone and expressed confidence that it will further enhance his contributions to the Corps and the nation. The Command also commended Nasarawa State University for recognizing excellence and promoting scholarship in Security and Strategic Studies.
