The OK Movement, a support group for Nigerian Democratic Congress (ND presidential and vice presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, has disowned a self-acclaimed leader of the “Obidients-Kwankwasiyya Merger,” Ogunche Sani.
In a statement issued on Monday, the group said it was unaware of the so-called merger group and of Sani’s claimed position as its National Executive Committee Director.
The denial follows the circulation of a flyer on social media attributed to Sani, which the OK Movement said did not emanate from the Obi-Kwankwaso support group.
The statement was signed by the National Director General of the OK Movement, Hon. John Ozyl Ughulu, who urged members of the public to disregard the flyer and any persons claiming to represent the group.
“Please be informed that the OK Movement is not affiliated with this group or organization in any way, and we do not recognize Mr Ogunche Sani or his claimed position,” the statement read.
The group clarified its leadership structure, stating that the OK Movement is led by Hon. John Ozyl Ughulu as National Director General, and that all official communications are issued only through recognized leadership and authorized platforms.
The OK Movement also advised its members to remain cautious. “We therefore advise all our members not to share any information, personal data, or official OK Movement materials with any individual or organization claiming to represent the OK Movement without proper authorization,” it said.
The statement concluded with a warning against impersonation. “Please remain vigilant against any form of impersonation or misrepresentation,” Ughulu stated.
