The Chairman of the Abuja Chapter of Nteje Development Union (NDU), Mr. Christian Nwora, has vouched for the capacity of the All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate for Oyi/Ayamelum Federal Constituency, Iyom Martha Ekene Nwafor, saying she will deliver effective representation if elected to the Federal House of Representatives.
Nwora gave the assurance in a telephone interview with our correspondent in Abuja on Thursday, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
MrNwafor emerged as the APC candidate for Oyi/Ayamelum after winning the party’s primary election. The constituency covers Oyi and Ayamelum Local Government Areas of Anambra State, with Nteje serving as the headquarters of Oyi LGA.
Describing her as a familiar and credible figure, Nwora said he has known Nwafor from childhood. “I know Ekene right from childhood. She is from a good family and married into a good family too. Before coming into politics, she has been delivering democracy dividends to our people,” he said.
The NDU chairman argued that Nigeria’s political landscape would be better with more people like her in office. “Had people like Ekene been going into politics, Nigeria would have moved to the expected level,” he stated.
He further described the APC candidate as a woman of strong character and competence. “Mrs. Martha Ekene Nwafor is a good Christian, highly educated and equal to the task, with special regard to public office,” Nwora added.
Expressing confidence in her ability to attract projects, he said constituents have nothing to lose by backing her. “The constituents won’t regret it if they vote her into office,” he noted.
Nwora, therefore, urged voters in Oyi/Ayamelum to mobilize support for the APC candidate. “I urge the constituents to support and vote the APC candidate into power and enjoy their deserved constituency projects,” he concluded.
